"A Living Sacrifice" - journal entry by Mrs. Donna Hart - May 8, 2020 Two years ago today my new normal began, and I started down a path of hospital stays and tests that would eventually end three months later with a diagnosis of ALS. It is almost becoming hard to remember the person I was before. I watch people scurrying about and wonder if I really used to be able to do that too...could I really walk out the door, jump in the car, and drive somewhere without giving it a second thought? Could I really just wander all around the house, cook a meal, do the dishes, [...]

“God led me very specifically into the electrical field so when I retired I could serve Him with my electrical abilities at Baptist Missionary Builders and now with Baptist Church Planters in helping to build churches.” Ron and Sandy Cornell bring expertise and experience to this ministry where they have served faithfully and joyfully for ten years after retiring from a successful thirty-year career as a maintenance engineer in the Nuclear industry. Brent and Michele Howard shared, "We have been blessed to be able to work with Ron and Sandy 9 of the 10 years that we have been builders. We were appointed as missionaries at the same meeting and [...]
In a previous article we explored the Purpose of Partnership as we brought out the New Testament teaching as the foundation of BCP’s philosophy of ministry. This governs how we view an agency’s relationship with church planters/revitalizers and local churches. In this installment we want to expose the Products and Pieces of Partnership by exploring the New Testament precedent for churches partnering together with church planters in advancing the Gospel. Philippians once again informs our thinking as we consider Paul’s relationship with the Philippian church. Philippians 1:5 and 7 highlight the church’s partnership and in chapter 4 the individual relationship the church adopted in helping Paul by sending Epaphroditus to [...]
We Have Already Received a Heritage, But We Are Still Writing a Legacy! We have little to say about the heritage we receive, but the legacy we leave is completely up to us. I cannot escape my heritage, that biological tie and identity with my parents and their parents that goes back for generations. I cannot rewrite history with regard to the influences on my life. My connections to family and history brought both good and bad. I would rather not think of the past in many respects, and I am thankful that by the grace of God I have overcome the bad influences. My legacy, though, is still being [...]
Those of you who regularly read the Connect publication may have recently seen this umbrella which gives a visual representation of how missiology fits under ecclesiology. In the following paragraphs I would like to flesh out what that looks like in real life as BCP, a mission agency, assists churches in fulfilling the Great Commission. How that commission is fulfilled by churches is rooted in the biblical principles governing the basic practices of the early church as seen in Acts 2:42 – continuing in the apostles’ doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayers. Paul serves as an example to us in the relationships he nurtured for partners in ministry. The [...]
It is so exciting to follow God’s plan and see what he can do with an older couple whose peer group is all retiring. Two years ago Peter agreed to be the interim pastor at Victory Baptist Church in Fullerton, Nebraska and Grace Baptist Church in Genoa, Nebraska following the sudden death of their church planter, Roy Cupples. After a year of filling the pulpit and searching for a pastor, it became evident that neither church was ready for that step. God in His wisdom intervened and prompted us to say yes to Him and to the churches if they wanted Peter to come as their church planter. At Victory [...]
Early in 2004 Baptist Church Planter Missionaries, Steve and Becky Little, met with several church leaders from Open Door Baptist Church in New Woodstock, NY, as well as a few interested business men. The subject of the meeting was to discuss a possible church plant in the Canastota/Wampsville/Oneida area of New York State. In that meeting it was evident that the Lord was leading Open Door Baptist Church to become the Mother Church of the plant under the direction of Pastor Joseph Riggs. Baptist Church Planters Regional Field Director, John Little, would be the Mission Agency Director to help oversee the project, and Steve and Becky Little would be the [...]
What an amazing adventure being in West Virginia has been, and it looks like it will continue to be! Galilean Baptist Church in Fairmont is our first assignment as missionaries with BCP. We started deputation in January of 2013 knowing God was bringing us to West Virginia but not exactly where. We were looking for a place to start a new church. In the fall, Dr. David Little called me while I was still in the hospital and asked if Sharon and I would consider helping Galilean, if they asked for help. After getting out of the hospital we restarted deputation and continued to look for a church plant location. [...]
