Two years ago, ChurchCare, the church building ministry of Baptist Church Planters, made our mission family aware of the need for a travel trailer. The trailer would be used by mission administrators, missionaries, and volunteers working on our church building projects. The mission published this need in our publications and website. The need was met with a mild response. A couple of calls wanting to sell us a trailer and only $100 came in designated for the trailer. The administration put the need on the back burner and moved on. God would provide in other ways. Fast forward to August 2015. A friend of the mission called and said they [...]

JOY Club material was used at the GARBC Annual Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, this year to teach the first through sixth grade program. Director Chip and Karen Wood and their three children organized and taught the five-day event. Between 48 and 60 children attended each of the eight sessions. Children enjoyed singing, puppets, Bible lessons, snacks, crafts, Bible verse memory time, creation faith lessons, missionary stories and competition time. Chip taught the Bible lessons using material that he is developing for the JOY Club program, and the children and parents were pleased with the new curriculum. This material is called Joy Journeys and is a look at each person listed in Hebrews [...]
Dear Partners: Back in the 1980s Becky and I were dairy farmers in upstate New York. I remember the huge investment we made putting thousands of dollars of seed, fertilizer and equipment hours into the ground in a given week. After I was done planting, I couldn’t see that much had changed in the field except that there were faint little furrows which represented the investment. The expectation was a fall harvest. It was all a necessary investment, but besides planting the field, we also had to keep the daily operations of the farm going which included milking the cows, upgrading and maintaining equipment, fixing fences and the like. Our [...]
On Sunday, May 17, 2015, over 300 people gathered for Dedication Day for Boardman Baptist Church in Youngstown, OH. It was a special day of celebration for the congregation as they have been praying for this day for a long time. Following the morning worship, the dedication service began with a Victory March of “those who have worked with their hands to make this building a reality” and ended with a catered “celebration meal.” The service included special music by soloists, the choir and the children of Boardman Baptist and a powerpoint presentation relating the story of the [...]
Three diverse churches in the Bay Area of San Francisco met for a joint worship service. “This was no simple task,” says Pastor Tim Heinrich of Crossroads Baptist Church. Meeting with Crossroads Baptist was a congregation that communicates through American Sign Language and one that speaks Spanish. All three churches—Crossroads Baptist Church, Deaf Baptist Church of Fremont, and La Roca Iglesia Biblica Bautista Independiente of Hayward—are church plants with Baptist Church Planters. Steve Little, president of BCP, posed the worship service idea when he attended a California Association of Regular Baptist Churches conference. The concept was three churches, three languages, and one purpose. On Sunday, April 12, 118 people from the [...]
The General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC) has asked JOY Clubs to bring our program to their 2015 annual conference in Nebraska. We will lead the youth program for 1st - 6th grades. This is a very exciting opportunity. We are finalizing a series from Hebrews 11 called JOY Journeys. We hope to use it for the conference and eventually make it available to churches. The intent is to create quality inexpensive tools that will be flexible enough for use with children of any age. It will contain hints and helps to adapt the same Scripture for multiple ages. [...]
“We can’t wait until next year!” That was the response of one attendee of the Hispanic retreat in August 2014 in Ventura, Iowa. For several years, Hispanic believers have enjoyed a weekend retreat at the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura, Iowa. Last year the retreat was held on September 19-20. This retreat, with the three main sessions in Spanish and the sessions for the teens and children in English, spiritually challenged attendees through music, messages and fellowship one with another. Christian books and music were also available for purchase throughout the weekend. The camp facilities provided opportunities for physical refreshment through the use of paddle boats, the climbing wall, basketball, [...]
