Our granddaughter, Ellie Dayton, arrived In March. She joined her big brother in Ankeny (only two hours away!) and increased the count to eight. The other six are in Colorado. Thankful for our trip to see them for Thanksgiving.

New for Scott, was to co-counsel at Jr. High Camp in July. He attended his first Jr. High Camp almost 50 years ago and accepted Christ! Shortly after camp Scott had a treadmill test, that led to other tests. Ultimately, he had an angiogram that revealed a 99% blockage. The expected 45-minute procedure lasted nearly 4 hours and included three stints. God’s safety during the summer activities was greatly appreciated once we understood the severity of the situation.

The surgery was such a success that Scott was cleared to travel the next week to Grafton, Ohio to give report for Baptist Church Planters council members. Again, God was so gracious. Scott’s energy was the best it had been for some time.

The regional Leadership Journey Retreats are critical to facilitating churches. Scott was able to organize five retreats this year. He is currently leading two Leadership Journey 24-week studies and hosting weekly trainer meetings for pastors. Marti finished up two Grove Bible studies (the ladies’ version) in May.

God provided three opportunities to help other peacemaking organizations. Scott co-conciliated for three weeks in May, June and December. He also co-taught a coaching training seminar for Relational Wisdom 360 in October. These ministries have been crucial to his training and it was awesome to work with them.
