Miguel and Ana Maria Quintana – Iglesia Bautista Hispana Starkey

2020-06-11T14:16:37-04:00

Miguel and Ana, both from Colombia, South America, faithfully served in ministry for over 20 years in several Latin American countries before coming to the United States. While planting a church in Waterloo, Iowa, Miguel and Ana realized they needed to partner with a mission agency, so in 2000 they attended Baptist Church Planters’ candidate school and became official missionaries. They faithfully built up the body of believers in Waterloo and are now presently serving at another church plant, Iglesia Bautista Hispana Starkey in Seminole, FL (meeting at Starkey Road Baptist Church.) Miguel and Ana are continually busy discipling families and individuals in their congregation of about 80 people. [...]

Ron and Sandy Cornell – missionary builders

2020-05-13T15:43:46-04:00

Ron and Sandy Cornell have been missionary builders since 2007 after thirty years in the work world. Ron was able to retire early while still “young enough” to keep up with Brent Howard. The Cornells share, “It has been rewarding, and we would do it  again! The Lord has blessed us with good health, good retirement, a truck and 5th wheel. It has been our privilege to serve the churches we have worked on. We have been part of approximately 17 projects, some longer than others but all rewarding. The places we have seen and the people we have worked with are priceless. Ron will be 70 this [...]

What is “Intentional Transitional Ministries”?

2020-04-01T14:29:28-04:00

Intentional Transitional Ministries is just one tool God uses through Baptist Church Planters to serve churches. We were just starting our part-time partner-raising in January of 2019 when a pastor contacted me about a church in transition. I had just received a contact from another mission agency about a couple that wanted to serve churches in transition. I had no idea what God had intended for those two connections, but by May, Marty and Susan Basinger were serving the Gilcrest Baptist Church of Gilcrest, Colorado, as ITM pastor and wife. I am humbled by the amount of trust that the church and the Basingers had in the newly developing [...]

Rob and Beth Worthington – Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hamlin, NY

2020-02-03T14:31:51-05:00

Revitalization – God’s Plan for Struggling Churches God’s hand of leading is perfectly clear in hindsight. As we looked back one year to the possibility of transferring to Florida to minister, God quickly turned our direction back to New York State. It was virtually instantaneously! A week and a half after we were ready to sign a rental agreement in Florida, we were living in Hilton, NY! I don’t believe any of that was a mistake. God turned us away from Hilton until His timing was right. As of March 1st of last year, we began our ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church. For the first month we sat back and watched as ministry took [...]

Roy and Karen Kinney – Pinecrest Baptist Church, Millbury, MA

2020-01-16T10:20:53-05:00

Our Journey to Permanency - Pinecrest Baptist Church Our journey has been a long circuitous one, a journey of ups and downs, buying and selling, moving and settling, losing and growing, renovating and fixing, faltering and trusting; this journey of Faith taking us one step at a time without seeing the end result.  Yet, looking back and seeing the hand of our Sovereign God in all of it guiding the way, directing our paths, growing our faith, establishing His Church and securing our permanent home. Man has his own plans and supporting churches do too.  Whether it’s a three or five or seven year plan to completing a Work, [...]
