Dear Prayer Partners,
I want to share a couple praises with you in answer to your prayers.
First, Sunday we had a special service that we have been doing in November the last couple of years. Instead of the normal preaching time we have gospel testimonies and I have brief words concerning baptism. We also sing twice as many songs as usual. The music was great as the Lord recently added a cello player and a new guitarist. The two testimonies, one from a former Mormon and the other someone out of a Luthern background, were very clear and powerful. We also saw three people baptized. It was a very special day highlighting our main purpose: making disciples to the glory of God.
Second, I want to give you an example of 2 Tim 2:2. Early on the Lord connected me to a retired man who attends our church but his wife is still Mormon. We started meeting weekly for coffee and it has turned into a time of discipleship and friendship. Part of our discipleship is taking people through a book on sanctification. After we went through this book I encouraged this man to take someone else through it. I helped him get started with another man and they went through it drawing them into a friendship. Two weeks ago those two started taking another gentleman in our church through the same book. I praise the Lord for this very biblical pattern that I am seeing in this case.
The gospel ministry is very exciting and rewarding.
