Our church family, as with most families, has a lot of variety. We have some more mature and some less. We have some very involved and some barely involved. We have some that are very disciplined with spiritual disciplines and those that rarely crack open their Bible. All that to say that while we definitely want to see people saved and the church growing numerically, we also have great needs for spiritual growth among our people and spirit enabled unity. Thank you for your prayers for this little church in the middle of Mormon territory.

God gives opportunities for witness in all different ways. Recently, one of my neighbors wrote us a letter to “share some good news from God’s Word.” In the letter she referenced Isa 26:3 and Jesus’ teachings as a source of peace in these uncertain times. At the end she asked a question, What do we need to do to benefit from His care? Then she gave her number and a website, JW.org for answers. Though the website identified my neighbors’ beliefs, the friendly letter with a return address gave me permission to write her a letter. Soon my neighbor will have some different thoughts about the good news that are centered on Jesus and His work on the cross.

We are definitely in winter here and I continue to do discipleship at Wendy’s, my second office.
