Pastor Adam and his wife Erin have 5 boys (10, 8, 6, 4, 2 weeks). Paul and Leroy have loved having friends their age range to play around with this summer and having many times of play and fellowship together. From (foam) sword fights, fishing expeditions, and even biking trails, countless memories have been made.

This small lovely town has us two blocks from the church, 3 minutes from Pastor’s house, and just 2 minutes to the library. Another blessing from this location is that we are closer to Abby’s family in Kansas and have been able to make various connections. We are also able to connect with some of our supporting churches and individuals.

We have been in prayer for you, our partners, as we know the summer holds a myriad of hot, sweaty and amazing ministry opportunities! From VBS to camp, we have been blessed to receive word of how God is working in and through your lives. Thank you for your prayers over our family and ministry. We see the difference those prayers make and are encouraged to see God work through your prayers.

Jobsite Update

Our time in Charles City has been a bit out of the ordinary in that we are temporarily apart from our friends and co-laborers, the Howards. They are starting the groundwork for the next jobsite in Pennellville, NY. This jobsite in Iowa has been Jimmy’s first time leading the process, from planning to on the site leadership. It has definitely been a learning curve as he leads this jobsite, and your prayers are coveted all the more.

For this church family, we are coming alongside them and helping install an ADA approved bathroom on the upper floor (there have been no bathrooms upstairs), and doing a facelift on the auditorium and foyer. We ran into a hitch early on with some details of the jobs, but we also got to see God provide both wisdom in the handling of things and counsel for Jimmy as he learned to navigate new territory. When we needed a contractor hired in, God provided one who was able to get us on their schedule just a few weeks out, not months! Now things are back on track, and we have passed the electrical and plumbing inspections, and are ready for drywall to go up! While these delays have shifted the original timeline and are keeping us here longer than originally thought, we are yet again reminded that man makes the plan, but God is sovereign over the outcome.

Abby’s Corner

My three year old has this habit…he will start movement (walking, running, riding, etc.) and as he gets going, he will then turn his head and look at things behind him. This often results in a stumble or injury of some sort. My precious boy will run head first into obvious obstacles and quickly need a hug of comfort and help setting himself right.  A simple solution would be to just keep his eyes forward at his goal, not distracted by everything around him. How often do we as adults start on our path of following God, yet quickly become distracted by a multitude of things we deem more important in that moment. IF only we would keep our eyes focused on God all the time! Yet what wonderful grace and comfort He gives us again and again. I encourage you to set your focus on Christ, our prize, and not let your gaze be distracted!

• Connecting with our neighbors at the campground. Some are long term, others short term, but all are opportunities to connect and point towards Christ.
• Safety on the jobsite.
• Connection opportunities in the church and community.
• Keep praying for the boy’s salvation.
• Abby is starting homeschooling with Paul this fall.
