Ministry Update
Jimmy and Abby Stevenson
ChurchCare Construction, Quakertown, PA
Fall 2025
What a wonderful whirlwind of events, travels, and meetings have occurred since we last wrote you an update. What a humbling blessing it has been to be bathed in your prayers and encouragement throughout this time of change and transition! The biggest update is that we are done at Temple Baptist Church in Lincoln, NE. It is exciting to accomplish a task that has been much delayed, yet so sad to be leaving the dear members of the church. You, our partners, have touched many lives at this church through your faithful support of our ministry. Our prayer for you is that God will pour His blessing on you above and beyond as you have poured it out on us and thus on those we minister to.

From July 10th onward we have been traveling! First was moving both our trailers to park at Greenville, PA, with the help of Jimmy’s parents Roy and Amy Stevenson. Then we had the absolute blessing of going to the BCP Family Camp that occurs every three years. What a WONDERFUL time of fellowship and renewing friendships. Our next stop was Kansas to spend time with Abby’s family before heading far east for a season and also to visit with BCP church planting missionaries, Ulysses and Augustine Bestey. From there we headed north to Lincoln, NE, to join with Temple Baptist for a final Sunday, and to celebrate what God has done during our time there. Partner and Family update:
Time with Abby’s sister in Ames, IA, was sweet and fun as cousins got to play together and make special memories. Plus we prayerfully decided to swap our minivan for their SUV, meeting both of our changing needs.
We have been gifted with time at the family farm in Greenville, PA. The boys (including JImmy) have loved every moment they can spend outdoors, driving the farm equipment, tending the cows and chickens, even chasing naughty calves back into their fence multiple times. We celebrated Jimmy’s parent’s 34th anniversary while there.
Around the time this newsletter reaches you in September, we will have arrived and joined with the Howards at the jobsite of a new building for Quakertown Baptist Church. This church body has been praying and planning for this building and on ChurchCare’s list for 8 years! The Howards arrived on August 13th, ahead of us. They have been busy diving into sorting out the details for this next jobsite and connecting to the body of believers there. They are also working on setting up the needed trailer sites. Those at this church have already started the work and have the footers, foundation, in-floor heating, and some excavation / septic field complete. The concrete slab is poured and finished, framing is now started, and trusses are scheduled to go up the 18th and 19th.

Abby’s Corner
As we shared in our previous newsletter, we had anticipated being in Clear Lake, IA, late summer-fall. I was especially looking forward to time there, being able to attend the ladies’ retreat at IRBC with our church, connecting with dear friends, being close to my sister, even helping with a wedding. It has certainly been a rollercoaster of emotions to have things changed again and again. Each time I think I’ve come to a place of surrender and flexibility, I learn that indeed, I have much more to grow. SO as we are about to start this next jobsite in Pennsylvania instead of Iowa, I reflect on the beautiful truths that God is so good. He is faithful. He stays the same. What a comfort it is to entrust my plans to my heavenly Father and with the grace He provides, rest in who He is.
Update: Since I typed the above, God provided abundantly and opened the door so that I flew out and did attend the ladies’ retreat!! Such an unexpected overwhelming blessing that refreshed my soul. And now I get to share that with you as well so you can see another way God showed His love and care.
Prayer
- Pray for more laborers in this ministry!
- Please also pray for the volunteer groups to come and those details involved.
- Pray for the church as we join them in worship and fellowship thru this next season.
- Pray for safety on the jobsite.
- Pray for the continued recovery of a couple who came and gave of their time but had a stumble that resulted in two emergency room visits. They are okay but need healing.
Praise
- We are at 100% financial support!
- Safe travels! It is no small thing to take our trailers and vehicles across so many miles.
- Able to get our new car thru the hoops of Pennsylvania paperwork before the next move!
- Abby got to go to the ladies’ retreat!
