Ministry Update
Miguel and Ana Quintana
Iglesia Bautista under Starkey Road Baptist Church, Seminole, FL
December 2024
Dear Prayer Partners,
Merry Christmas from the Quintanas!
We can never thank you enough for your prayers, for bringing us faithfully and lovingly before the Lord in your daily prayers. As we work together to bring glory to God and souls to Christ, we know that in praying, we not only encourage one another but also unite as a family. As the year has passed, we can have peace, knowing that our God truly listens to us and cares for us. Thank you for ministering to us, as you help us pray effectively for the development of the Hispanic church in Seminole, Florida.
We continue working with the model of Acts 2:42-44, as well as carrying out the mandate of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20. Evangelizing the lost, baptizing believers, and teaching converts. Please pray for us that we may be faithful and wise servants, so that when the Lord returns, He will find us watching. My work with my team of deacons each month has yielded great results; they are encouraged to serve God, and two of them have already taken the “International Leadership Seminar” offered by Baptist Church Planters, while others are on the list for the next season. They are also helping me with the step-by-step discipleship we are doing on
Wednesdays, using the material from Grace Church of Mentor: Fundamentals and Walking.
The congregation’s membership has experienced ups and downs, like a wave of changes due to migration issues, with some members going to work in other states, and unfortunately, some have left the Lord.
As for my health, after having my pacemaker replaced, it seems that God has given me more energy than a young missionary. I continue with the prison ministry; every Thursday I take the Word to a Spanish-language service in Pinellas County.
My son Jonathan and his wife Abigail helped us establish the Sunday school for preschool and school-age children. Jonathan also prepared the teachers who would replace them when they left.
Our son also prepared with me to preach some Sundays and to teach discipleship on Wednesdays. We were very
blessed to have them working with the Hispanic ministry for 9 months.
We are praying for God’s will for David, our younger son, and the group of young ex-Marines he is discipling in his home. God has provided him with a full-time job at a law office.
This year, 2024, my wife has been teaching a conference on the wise woman from Proverbs. The women’s
committee has been a great help to her in organizing church events. They had much success working as a team
and learning from one another to serve, make invitations, sing hymns, provide spiritual food, and prepare dinners
with various menus.
Reasons for Praise:
- God protected us from Hurricane Milton. Although some
families’ homes were affected, there was nothing devastating
or irreparable. - It was wonderful to see God’s hand in the U.S. elections, with
everyone praying confidently for the government we should
vote for and carefully choosing amendments that uphold
Christian values. - Praise for the 25 inmates who have received Jesus as their
Savior during the Spanish-language service on Thursdays in
Pinellas County. - Praise for the 15 new believers who have accepted Jesus as
their Savior in the services of the Hispanic church. Five of
them have already been baptized.
Prayer Requests:
- For wisdom and spiritual growth for the church leaders.
- For protection and wisdom for Jonathan and Abigail, English
teachers in Tokyo, Japan. - Spiritual growth for the youth group that David leads in his
home. - For the lady’s ministry and Sunday school to Hispanic
children. - For the Quintana family: please pray that God helps us with
our financial challenges. - We will be traveling to Colombia to be with my mother, who is
currently in very poor health.
