Ministry Update
Roy and Karen Kinney
Pinecrest Baptist Church, Millbury, MA
April 2024
For those of you who read our updates, Yes, we are still here and alive!
Here you go…
HEALTH:
-Roy tested positive for Influenza A so we had to cancel our Good Friday service. Thankfully, he was better by Easter Sunday. Viruses seemed to hit a lot of us for a few weeks with lingering symptoms.
-Roy also had an upper abdomen hernia repair surgery on the 10th. He had some issues coming out of surgery and it took a lot longer than expected for healing. Thankfully, family carries the business work load and Jason from Pilgrim Baptist came over to cover for a Sunday. A few more weeks and he should be back to regular activity.
-I am fighting a cold (lost my voice) or seasonal allergies which I have never had!
CHURCH:
-We had a beautiful day Resurrection Sunday to be outside for our Sunrise Service. The men did a great job with our breakfast and we had a good turn out.
-We continue to have good attendance. We are working on getting to know our newer families. Kiersten hosted a Moms meet up at OSV for an outing. Some families met up at the Homeschool Convention to encourage each other.
TRAVEL:
-We traveled to the NRBFC conference in Maybrook, NY in a snowstorm and our conference ended with an earthquake! It was a memorable conference. The ones who did make it in worked hard to get there, our hosting church cared for us so well, and we learned to have a heart for the people in our community and local politicians.
-Our next trip is an ALL Family Vacation in May!
FAMILY:
-We enjoyed a full weekend with Amelia’s family here for the Homeschool Convention and visiting.
-Some family birthdays were celebrated with the Hansen side of the family.
-Our family is such a blessing in our local church and in theirs for those who live away. Thank you, Lord!
We appreciate you taking the time to read our updates and to send us notes. May the Lord bless your week as you continue to serve Him as well.
