NRBFC Conference Update
Our hearts are full as we update you on the NRBFC conference hosted here at Pinecrest Baptist Church. It was our 3rd attempt to host the Northeast Regular Baptist Fellowship of Churches Conference. God’s timing is always best!
October 3-4, 2024
With the backdrop of a perfect fall day one hundred and forty plus people traveled in to fellowship and honor our Faithful God. “Great is God’s Faithfulness”
Preparations
- Landscape clean up and under the sign design (LEI company).
- Power wash the building.
- Clean out & Sealcoat the parking lot cracks (Pioneer).
- Building Renovations.
- Organizing, planning, cleaning, shopping, ironing, decorating, coordinating music, sound system, session planning, food ordering, Ladies’ Tea planning, more shopping, praying…
Conference Memories/Highlights
- Great preaching by Pastors Tim Gillam, Al Thibault, Ralph Verdu, Tom Rofe, & Wayne Shatney.
- Ladies’ Tea time with Sandy sharing about her friendship with us.
- Lovely catered meal by Napoli’s, Dessert cake from Fancesco’s, and drinks catered by Chick-fil-A.
- Complimentary meal cards to CFA and pizza provided church lunch.
- Pilgrim Baptist Church teaming with us in finances, food, and help to host.
- Personal testimonies shared by many about the NRBFC and the Shatney’s ministry.
- Celebration over our awesome building that God has provided for us. Perfect for hosting!
- Sweet Fellowship, building up of relationships, care & expressions of love shown including special love gifts to the Shatneys.
Honoring Wayne & Sandy Shatney
The entire conference was celebrating God’s Faithfulness to the Fellowship and the faithful 25 years of Wayne & Sandy Shatney serving as the NRBFC Rep.
A retirement Banquet was held in their honor with special music from the family, meaningful testimonies, a picture video from over the years, and a lovely Napoli’s catered meal.
48 years of serving the Lord in ministry!
All went home refreshed and encouraged from being together. Praising our FAITHFUL God!
Other Updates:
- Pastor Matt & Lauri Coons from our supporting church (Cornerstone Baptist in Camden, Maine) were able to stay after the conference to preach and minister in music on the 6th.
- We enjoyed hosting family and friends in our home for the conference.
- Coffee on the Porch moved into the Living Room last week at 6:00 AM! Will see how the weather goes for any more outdoor meet ups.
- Family wood day at the Shatneys on Sunday afternoon was a success as we got all their wood piled in the basement and garage for the winter. Special thanks to Maine family for getting started without us:)
- While in Maine our guys were able to install a kitchen for Roy’s sister as well.
Praising God for:
- His Sovereignty
- The MANY blessings throughout the Conference.
- The growth our church people experienced through serving together.
- The generosity of our church people in caring for others.
- The 2 new guys from the community attending the last 2 weeks.
- This beautiful fall weather and color.
Please keep in prayer:
- A member and her family as her brother passed away and the funeral is this week.
- A member couple as they are in the midst of a difficult adoption situation in Georgia. Another court date is Friday.
- Plans for Graduation as a church from the Mission. Next on our list. A series of messages are preparing us for this.
- Baptism & Membership Classes as they begin soon.
