Ministry Update

The Wynn Family

Steve, Kristen, London, & Calvin

June 2023

May is usually a pretty busy month, and this one was no exception! Not only did we celebrate Mother’s Day and several birthdays, the kids also took part in a few special plays and concerts for school. As London and Calvin look forward to summer and then homeschooling in the fall, they are working hard to finish the year well, while also enjoying field trips and other fun activities that the last few weeks of school always bring. During the last week of school, London will officially “graduate” from elementary school during a special ceremony. Calvin also had a great report at the doctor concerning his elbow and was released to play sports and go to recess! He was very relieved to hear this since both kids have signed up to play SAYSO Soccer beginning in late June! London and Calvin are excited to attend Camp Bayouca in July, too.

We are praising the Lord for a productive and safe FBT missions trip to New Mexico! Several church members flew or drove to New Mexico to help a missionary family we support (the Lees) add new roofs to their camp buildings, among other things. Additionally Steve, J, and other youth leaders took many teens to Camp Bayouca at the beginning of May for a youth seminar called “Recharge.” They had a great time! As our Sunday Night Kids and small group activities wind down in June, we are looking forward to having “Franks, Fire, and Fellowship” at FBT on Wednesday nights during July and August!

There is A LOT happening at Constantia Center Baptist Church! During the month of May, members voted to go ahead with the construction plan for the sanctuary and bathrooms, and on May 20, over 30 CCBC and FBT men and women gathered for demolition. Although we had planned for 3 full Saturdays to complete demolition, it was finished in about 6 hours! Praise the Lord for the body of Christ working together! We are so excited for the completion of this project, but we also humbly ask for your prayers during this time—for patience, unity, and wisdom during the process.

Steve wrapped up his sermon series on the “One Anothers” and has begun his summer series on the book of Titus. The adult Sunday school classes are also each beginning a book called “Foundations: Bible Truths for Christian Growth” supplied by Grace Church of Mentor (Ohio). The book covers the basics of the Faith and is great for new believers as well as seasoned disciplers interested in a new tool for sharing the basics.

Steve and many others are working on an extension plan in order for us to stay a little while longer at CCBC as they continue to search for a pastor. We appreciate your prayers for wisdom as all of those details get worked out. As well, please continue to pray for the church’s search committee as they work diligently on finding a pastor. They have received 3 applications so far!

Our family is looking forward to a period of rest and relaxation once the kids are officially out of school! We plan to vacation June 26-July 9. We plan to take a couple short trips during that time, but we also are excited to spend some quality time at home together.

You won’t receive another newsletter from us over the summer, but please continue to pray for us and feel free to reach out! We love hearing from our partners. We are incredibly loved and supported. It is a blessing to serve our Lord together with all of you!

Clockwise from top left: London was a pirate in her class play; Calvin was a farmer boy in his class play; London and Steve marched during the Pageant of Bands with her elementary group; London and Calvin checked out the demo at CCBC; Calvin had a good elbow appointment and was cleared for sports; London and a friend before the Pageant of Bands; Steve with the teens and leaders at the youth seminar at Camp Bayouca; CCBC kids sang a special song for Mother’s Day.
