We are pleased to announce the arrival of our granddaughter Lydia. Please pray for our daughter’s healing from the emergency C-section needed to deliver Lydia safely. The baby was swaddled with the umbilical cord in the womb and her heartbeat was not recovering well after each contraction.
Focus on One's Perspective
Remorse looks back. Worry dreads ahead.
Both Isaiah and Paul help us form a biblical perspective on our devotion to the Lord.
In Isaiah 45:23–24, he tells us, “By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance. Only in the Lord, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; to him shall come and be ashamed all who were incensed against him.”
Paul says in Philippians 2:10–11, “So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
With confidence, we who have trusted Christ can bow down, humbling ourselves to the Lordship of the Savior. Knowing someday the incensed, unbelieving ones will quake and bow before Him and acknowledge Him as Lord as well. We are so grateful that by His grace He redeemed our life from the pit (Psalm 103:4).
Prayer Requests
- Please continue to pray for Marsha and the ladies in the Grove study to practice the spiritual disciplines we are studying and learning together.
- Pray for the Solomons serving in Fairmont, WV, as the ChurchCare builders go there next week to replace the church roofs. Safety for the builders and being a blessing to the church body.
- Continued prayer for the church family at Trinity Baptist Church in Muncie, IN, during their pastor’s 6-week training away as a Navy Chaplain.
