Ministry Update
Wayne and Shanna Dale
Grace Baptist Church, Scottsdale, AZ
November 2023
Dear Friends and Family,
November reminds us to be thankful to God as we enter into the busy time of holidays, seasonal ministries, and for us, cooler weather. We are grateful for your prayers, for the safety as we travel this busy city, and for God’s blessings for the ministry and for our family. While our home team, the Arizona Diamondbacks were not able to win the World Series in baseball, we still have many reasons the thank our Savior. We are grateful that God has just recently brought a family with lots of ministry experience to help with working with working with young couples and singles. The Llorente family have served in a nearby church and have joined to help this smaller urban church ministry.
The Llorente family have a heart to minister in a smaller ministry and can help disciple and serve in various capacities. Daniel also serves as an Air Force Reserve chaplain.
Wayne praying with a member and two of her daughters who work in the medical field.
The bible study group went out to one of the men’s favorite restaurant to celebrate. It is a blessing to see their faithfulness as we study God’s Word each week.
A couple from church who Wayne married last year experienced the Grand Canyon for the first time. Each time we go it always has a way of reminding you of the wonder of our awesome God. A 7 hour drive round trip also gives you some time to catch up on people’s lives.
An international Chinese high school student and a former Tri-City-city Christian student share a lot over Hot Pot.
We were very busy as our church recently hosted the Arizona Association meetings with Dr. Tim Little from Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary and Pastor Kristopher Schaal from nearby Northwest Valley Baptist Church.

Pastor Marquez- Glendale, Pastor Kelley- Kingman, Wayne, Pastor Kester- Tucson
This faithful young couple were married a month when they moved and joined our church. They have attended just over a year and celebrated the birth of their first child a few days ago.
Wayne preached in Spanish and English at the Marquez’s church and they came and taught about Hispanic ministry. Afterwards they enjoyed authentic Korean food with part of the family.
Simon and his teacher (who attends our church) at his themed piano recital and Claire playing volleyball for the first time this year.
Thank your for your faithful prayers and giving. The city is constantly changing and recently a church sold their property to a condo developer. This is the the 3rd church within a mile that has sold their property or moved away. The demographic near Grace Baptist has become younger professionals and retirees while most middle age with children have moved away to a different suburb. Please pray about our unique ministry and both the challenges and blessings. Our location is very central. We continue to see singles and couples join as members. A family unit consists of 1 or 2 so numerical growth looks different. It is a blessing as we continue to see God bring people. There are many who will meet up for a meal or coffee rather than at a home. However economically it can be expensive and even our gas budget can be $700/mos since our prices are similar to CA. Please pray for God’s provision economically, numerically, and spiritually. Faithful is God!
PS Rylee is busy at ASU and working, Gloria at college at faith.edu., Claire taking college class, basketball, high school and work, Simon is 6th grade and being a kid.
