As you have faithfully prayed for us, some have faithfully supported us financially. We are very grateful for the financial supporters since they allow us to minister to struggling churches. Recently, a dear friend and supporter went home to Jesus. Her story is an amazing story of God’s grace and I want to share one portion of it.

Sue and her husband started attending our sending church soon after we arrived. She had recently decided she needed to get back to church and her husband was very much against it. Through the years as his opposition and hatred for the gospel grew, Sue’s faith grew proportionately. It was exciting to watch her spiritual growth in the face of very real opposition. Though he was a relatively young retiree, his health started to decline rapidly. Even through that he remained opposed to Sue’s faith but she remained faithful to the Lord and her husband. One month before he died Sue had the opportunity to see her husband call on Jesus for forgiveness of sins.

At his death Sue continued to receive a payment from her husband’s retirement. She told me that she didn’t need it and she was going to direct it towards our support. That money came to us for many years helping the gospel to go forward. God’s ways are beyond our understanding. A man opposed to the gospel most of his life ended up supporting our ministry for years. That points to the amazing glory of God.
