Ministry Update

Roy and Karen Kinney

Pinecrest Baptist Church, Millbury, MA

February 2024

Dear Prayer Partners,

It’s been a whirlwind of activity the past three weeks…
-Our Celebration of Love Sunday was a full house with 60 in attendance.
-Mary Jane’s knee replacement surgery was postponed due to low blood count numbers and she needs more testing.
-Sharon’s friend, Joan, passed away.
-We had fun keeping a couple of grandchildren while Kurt & Coralie went on their Plexus trip to Punta Cana.  Their flight home was delayed an entire day and during that time Kurt found out his grandfather Hansen had unexpectantly passed away.  They arrived home in time for Coralie to travel to NY and pick up Kaia at Alyssa’s and celebrate Levi’s 1st birthday with them and then on to Maine.
-We traveled to Maine to stay with my parents (the Shatneys) and visit with Kyle & Amelia on Saturday.
-Sunday we were with E. Limington Baptist Church in Maine.  We gave an updated report on the ministry in Millbury, Roy preached, and I had the privilege of teaching a room full of kids for Sunday School.  We enjoyed a lunch with the Mission’s Committee.  Thank you, dear church family, for your hospitality and continued prayers and support.
-We all, as a family, went to the funeral on Monday for Norm Hansen – grandfather of 3 of our married children.  The great grandkids did such a good job going around comforting family members.  Norm loved God and his family.  Pastor Thibault officiated, and it was nice to be with family, friends, and the Burnham church family.
-Our church men cared for the services on Sunday while we were gone.  At 80 years old Ken is willing to study (be discipled) and teach adult SS which is a blessing.  Ed pastored churches in the past and is our new deacon who preached for us.  Steve is our new deacon who does announcements and will teach.  Marco leads the music through the sound system when we are gone as there is no pianist.  We are thankful for all who step up to lead and serve.
-We are all home, back to work and “normal” busy.  Thankful for the safety provided on the roads and for God’s comfort and care for the Hansen families at this time.

Other Pics of the funeral and the grandkids learning a lot about loss, love, and the Hope and comfort we have in Christ.

Thank you for your continued prayers!
