Spring Update

We have been “marching into Spring” with lots of activities.

In the beginning of March, we took a trip east and met with some new church contacts and supporters. We are praising the Lord for how he continues to connect us to churches and families that are wanting to hear what God is doing in southern Idaho. We came back refreshed from our time with other believers and ready to get back to work.

The end of march we hosted a Wild Game Dinner. This event was a great outreach into our community. It included dinner, a Gospel message, and raffle give aways. We had around 70 people in attendance for the dinner and we were thrilled to see a few visitors came back for our Easter Service.

Current Updates:

Church Leadership

Thank you so much for your prayers for our church. We currently have two elders. Stephen became an elder in February and we have another lay elder that is taking on more of an administrative role. We are praying that God will provide one more elder to take on more of the preaching role. In the meantime, God is growing Stephen as he has had more opportunities to preach. We are thankful for others that have helped fill in on our preaching rotation.

Church Growth

  • God continues to bring in new visitors almost every week.

  • This coming Sunday a man in our church that is ready to take the next step in his faith is getting baptized.

  • Our New Member’s class is starting up this week and it was encouraging to see several hands raised that are interested in the class.

Discipleship

Janelle is leading a Bible Study with the leadership ladies in our church on mentorship with the intent that the ladies will mentor someone in the fall.
God has also brought two ladies that are going through hard seasons who want to do one-on-one Bible studies with Janelle. It’s amazing how much God grows you in the process of discipling others. Praising the Lord for “iron sharpening iron” moments.

Stephen leads youth group, meets with the senior teen guys, and enjoys meeting with the men in a bi-weekly Bible Study.

For the past two months, he has been meeting every week to talk about the Bible with a former co-worker, Skyler. He continues to come to church and show a hunger for God’s Word. Stephen believes Skyler has come to know the Lord as his personal Savior or is very close. He has a deep burden for his wife to know Christ as well as his four children.

Stephen and one of guys he is mentoring co-lead a new believers Bible Study. This week another one of Stephen’s work buddies stopped by on the night of the new believer study and joined the study. This work buddy has recently come to church a couple of times. We love watching God work!

Together we are meeting with two different young couples to encourage them in their marriages and walk with Christ.

Pray!

Pray for Skyler and his family that they would know Christ in a personal way.

Pray for Stephen’s other co-worker that he would continue to show an interest in God and be open to gospel conversations.

Pray for another family that is hurting that God would comfort them and grow them in this hard season.

Pray for opportunities in our community to be a light! Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Thank you for praying,

Stephen and Janelle Jespersen
