Hello Prayer Partners!
But this past week she shared during our study, “I understand God’s Word now! I’m reading it all of the time.” Praise the Lord! Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 2:14 that “the natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God.” However, once we’re saved, we are given the Helper – God’s own Spirit! – who teaches us the Word and brings it to remembrance when we need it. God is so good!
How have you recently praised God for the growth in your own life and in the lives of others? He is so good!
What’s in progress?
West Smyrna Baptist Church
We’re in our third month of ministry in our revitalization extension plan. Join us in praising the Lord for all He is accomplishing in His church:
- Pastor Judah and Maddi moved into the newly renovated parsonage this month.
- Steve concluded being the “face” of ministry, transitioning preaching to Judah on May 31. Steve will continue preaching at West Smyrna at least once a month.
- The adults began their summer Sunday School series, “The Walk.“
- Steve continues mentoring and transitioning ministry over to Judah. This month Judah and he co-lead the deacons meeting.
- Kristen and Steve are involved in ongoing discipleship studies and evangelistic opportunities.
- The church leaders have identified the next group of men to take Leadership Journey in the fall.
Judah and Maddi Sayles have moved into the parsonage! Steve’s Dad completed his term as deacon. Pastor Tom gave an update to the church family on all that has occurred at Bible Baptist. Deacon Linn continues to lead the church in memorizing Scripture during the worship service.
The adults have begun their summer Sunday School study. Aptly called, “The Walk,” this discipleship resource will continue into September.
Bible Baptist Church, New Hartford
- Missionary Pastor Tom and his wife, Shari, continue their ministry at Bible Baptist, including preaching, teaching/discipleship, counseling, and more.
- BCP Director Marty and Steve are meeting with the church’s deacons to make changes to their constitution and create a pastoral search process.
- The steering committee will continue to meet on a monthly basis with Steve, Linn, and Judah serving on the committee for WSBC.
- Steve is continuing discipleship twice a month with BCP’s “Step B” Study.
Faith Baptist Tabernacle, Sherburne
- There are a lot of preparations underway for our end-of-the-year activities, including our youth group senior banquet, our Sunday night kids’ water party, a worship night, and a celebration sendoff for the Fischers.
The Fischers closed on their new home in Wisconsin Rapids! Erin hosted her piano students’ recital to say goodbye. One of our teens, Layla, was baptized and joined in membership at FBT! She was saved last year during Snow Camp.
Baptist Church Planters
- Steve continued meeting with pastors to provide an overview of the Discipling Teachers module. A handful of churches will participate in the launch this fall.
- Steve is also helping organize the BCP Waypoint retreat at Bayouca on September 25-26.
Kristen had a wonderful birthday! A number of families from FBT had a night out at the movies.

- Praise God for Tom & Shari’s ministry at Bible Baptist Church.
