Summer is here. We are looking forward to the change of activities and possible outreach opportunities.
I (Bob) have served at UTIBACA horsemanship camp for years and the kids change so much from year to year. Often we lose touch with them as they graduate and go on to other things. We are never sure of the impact we make in their lives.
Recently, I was encouraged by the conversation with one mother who said Horsemanship camp was the highlight of her daughter’s year. She is one of the mothers, who many of you can identify with, that is genuinely concerned for her daughter’s spiritual health. She shared how her daughter had struggled with doubts and a lot of fears and anxiety. At camp, we regularly use horses during a time we call “chapel in the meadow” to illustrate some of the Biblical truths we are trying to teach.
Last year Pastor Ehmann had chosen 5 key topics such as: pride/humility, fear/trust, etc. for those sessions. The daughter has specifically talked about the fear/trust lesson that we demonstrated with horses and how it has meant so much to her as she identified with seeing the horses struggle in that area. Mom went on to say how excited she was to see her daughter go on to stretch herself in some very scary situations as a result of her growing relationship with the Lord.
Our salvation is so much more than getting saved, being good and someday ending up in heaven. The gospel “by His grace” saves us, transforms us, and continues to perfect and confirm us to His likeness until the day He takes
us home to be with Him in glory.” Praise the Lord our labor is not in vain.

I Corinthians 5:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

My heart was deeply touched by M’s story, a gal who just graduated from high school two weeks ago. I have gotten to know her at horsemanship camp and horse riding lessons here at my place and over the last 3 years. When I asked her what she was going to be doing this summer she responded that she was helping the family move out of their house here in Grantsville. Thinking, that was a strange answer, I probed a little deeper only to discover her dad and little brother were moving to California where he has family and her mom is going to move to Salt
Lake. She is going to try to stay in Grantsville for a while and then maybe live with her mom until she goes to college this fall. All that to say “what a graduation present.” Her religious background has basically been of the LDS faith who promises “families are forever.” Praise the Lord that we have the opportunity to share the forever truth of Christ that truly is forever. Would you please pray that she embraces the Christ who will never leave her or forsake her?
The spiritual battle is real but all praise to the One who has defeated sin, death, the grave and rules and reigns in the lives of His people. We look to that day that He appears and we are caught up to be with Him.
I have the privilege of working through a book called LEAD by Paul Tripp with 2 other groups of men. It has been an exciting, rewarding time to walk together with these men who are growing and developing in their endeavor to
disciple and lead others.

We are always looking for ways to connect with people to share the love of Christ.
As a church, we are planning a cookout/BBQ appreciation event for the police force here in Grantsville. We would like to invite them and their families to show our support for all they do. Every month we have given treats and encouraging notes to them to let them know we are praying for and support them. They have expressed great happiness when they see us. The love and respect for them goes a long way. Please pray for open doors to share Christ with them.
There is a missions team that is coming out in June to help with outreach ministries. There is talk of a 3 day VBS, some canvasing, etc. Please pray for wisdom in planning and open hearts.
Family News:
It has been mentioned that we don’t give an update of the family much so we will do so now.
Bethany and Matthew ( in Turkey) are doing well. The kids are finishing up school in June and are excited for summer. They are very busy with hospitality, studies, and life with 3 kids.
Melissa and Bobby ( in Ecuador) are just getting through a bout of sickness that put Melissa and the 2 boys in the hospital with pneumonia/bronchitis. They have been going hard with ministry stuff so now are going to have to slow down( as much as you can slow down with 4 kids and homeschooling) to recover fully.
Ben and Amber are doing well. He is working with a construction company that put up a mall in Tooele. It was a stretcher for Ben to be in a lead position on that project but he has done well and learned a lot. They are expecting baby #3 in October/November, which will be grand baby #10 for us. We are all excited for this news.
Heidi continues to be very busy in Denver. She is a personal assistant to the CEO of a soft ware company and enjoys the challenges of keeping everything in order. She is active with her church, job and social life to we don’t hear from her often but are thankful she is happy there.
