Ministry Update
Steve and Kristen Wynn
Associate Church Revitalizers, Smyrna, NY
September 2025
Hello Prayer Partners!
On September 1, J. and Steve flew off to Iowa for the Baptist Church Planters’ Council Meeting. Pastors, missionaries, and laymen from around the country gathered for sweet fellowship and prayer. The council received reports from BCP’s leadership on the work currently in progress across our country – of churches being revitalized, disciples being made, the gospel going forth in boldness, missionaries being sent, and more – all praise to our Risen King!
Please be in prayer for two key areas for BCP:
- For God to provide new partners for BCP. Steve has been serving on the Council’s financial committee, along with helping plan BCP’s NEXT 35 campaign. We’re trusting God to provide $900,000 over three years. All gifts to BCP’s Multiply Fund will help equip and multiply leaders, strengthening today’s churches to plant tomorrow’s! If interested in learning more, be sure to check out the latest BCP Connect or their giving page: give.bcpusa.org/NEXT35
- For God to provide more missionaries – Missionary builders for ChurchCare and missionaries for Baptist Church Planters. The harvest is great!
During the week, the Council and BCP staff stayed at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp. This afforded us time between meetings to be together and enjoy the peace of God’s creation. Steve loved the cool, crisp mornings. Being outside and in God’s Word as the sun rose was a highlight of the trip.
What’s in progress?
Steve began the new sermon series “Being the Church” where we are diving into the “One Another” commands of Christ. Hank and Becky presented gifts to all of the children moving up in their Sunday School classes. The deacons hosted a breakfast for the church. London loves helping with Junior Church.
We’re in our seventh month of revitalization work at West Smyrna Baptist Church. Join us in praising the Lord for all He is accomplishing in His church:
- We have four men beginning Leadership Journey this month. We had our retreat last weekend at Camp Bayouca.
- We are working through our pastoral preparation process with a man in the church who aspires to go into pastoral ministry. We’re currently in the beginning stages of that process.
- Our Foundations Study will wrap up in early October. As we conclude, we are purchasing additional books for our folks to disciple others in the foundations of the faith.
- We are preparing for the next study called SENT – equipping in relational evangelism.
- We are working on updating the WSBC website.
40 men from seven different churches (and two states!) came together for the Leadership Journey retreat at Camp Bayouca. It was a wonderful time of fellowship, worship, and discipleship!
Some odds and ends:
- Kristen and the kids are doing well with homeschool! Hard to believe this is our third year educating at home. London says that her favorite subject so far is Art, and Calvin’s is History!
- Steve is continuing his work on the teacher training module with Jon Jenks and Ginny Sebok of BCP.
- Steve continues serving in an advisory capacity for BCP’s NEXT 35 campaign.
- Steve conducted the “get-to-know-you” interviews for Bible Baptist Church in New Hartford as a part of their revitalization process.
- On September 28, London was voted into membership at FBT!
Youth group is back in session! On our first Sunday, we had 34 – including new teens invited by our regulars! The teen worship band has also begun. We’ve split the group into three smaller teams to ensure everyone grows in musicality. We are grateful for our eight youth leaders!
London and Calvin are loving soccer. We’ve seen both improve this year – thanks to their coaches!
We were back on the road in September presenting our ministry at Open Door Baptist Church. Kristen and the kids held homeschool in the Wild Bunch Cafe while Steve was away at the BCP Council Meeting. Steve was able to enjoy an evening with the FBT pastors and deacons.
Look at how much Calvin and London have grown during the last few years of ministry!

Our Mission Statement:
Through the grace of God and His word, the redemptive works of Christ, and the sanctifying efforts of the Holy Spirit, we encourage and equip the body of Christ in order to ensure its members, both near and far, are enduring in the lifelong work of glorifying God and discipling faithful men and women who will be entrusted to continue this work until our Lord and Savior returns.
We are passionate for the local church. We desire to see churches disciple their members to grow in adoring Him, loving one another, sharing the hope of the gospel, and living transformed lives.
