Ministry Update

Steve and Kristen Wynn

Constantia Center Baptist Church, Bernhard’s Bay

March & April 2024

Hello Prayer Partners!

Every time we get together for a new family picture, I (Steve) blink a couple of times and ask myself, “where has the time gone?” This is especially true of the above three pictures. The first was taken on a chilly day in November 2021. We had been BCP missionaries for only a few months and were working on making our website. The second was taken when we officially joined Constantia Center Baptist Church (CCBC) as their missionary pastor family in August 2022. The last was taken this past Sunday, March 31, on our last day at CCBC.

If you look at London and Calvin, they have changed so much over the past few years. London no longer looks like a little girl, but has become a young lady. Calvin has lost his baby face and now looks like a young gentleman.

This reminds me of James 4, where we read that our life is like a mist – it appears for a little time and then vanishes. In response, we are not to boast in ourselves but rather are to rely upon the Lord. We ask that the Lord continues to teach us to number our days so we may get a heart of wisdom! We want to be joyfully obedient in serving our Savior and Lord, knowing that each moment is significant!

This past Sunday, as I shared above, was our last at CCBC. With many tears, we said, “see you soon!” to the church we have loved for the past two years. It is incredible how God knit our hearts together. They have become family to us! We’ve mourned together, rejoiced and sang together, laughed during birthday parties and meetings, wrestled with sin, prayed for one another, encouraged each other, and more. While it is hard to step away, we rejoice knowing that Christ is the head of the church! We have complete assurance that He who began a good work in them will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ! What blessed assurance we have serving our God who does not lie and does not forsake us! Each of His promises will come true and He will provide for CCBC long after we have gone. Our God is so good to us.

We cannot express enough how grateful we are to our church family at CCBC for their kindness and love over the past two years. We celebrated Jesus’ resurrection on Sunday and considered the hope we can experience because He lives!

You can view the recording of the service on CCBC’s Facebook page by clicking here: facebook.com/ConstantiaCenterBaptist/videos/445968784521159

Over the past month, we moved out of the CCBC parsonage. We are grateful that the church graciously provided this home for us to use! We continue to pray for God to provide their next pastor and wait in eager anticipation for our prayers to be answered! If you know of a potential pastor, I encourage you to view and share CCBC’s pastoral portfolio (click here to view a PDF copy). The search committee welcomes help in spreading the word!

March and April have been full of birthday and Easter celebrations! Steve celebrated his birthday on March 1. He felt compelled to wear a crown that day! Calvin celebrated his birthday on April 1 and enjoyed his new lightsabers. It was quite the epic battle, with more to come! We enjoyed an Easter meal with Steve’s family in Smyrna and then had an egg hunt and another fun competition.

We had a wonderful time of worship and training during our Leadership Journey retreat at Camp Bayouca. Many thanks to Baptist Church Planters’ President Jon Jenks and Missionary Director Tim Weeks for leading the weekend. We had three churches represented this weekend and look forward to the next retreat where we will have many more join us (Lord willing)!

  • Our church was blessed to have Jon Jenks join us on March 24. Kristen and I were able to be there and be encouraged through the preaching of Hebrews 4.
  • London and Calvin have been enjoying youth group, our children’s ministries, and music lessons.
  • Our family presented our ministry at two churches; the Christian Church of Rural Grove and Central Baptist Church. Both churches were incredibly kind and hospitable towards us! We were grateful for the opportunity to share all of the incredible work God is doing in the churches around us.
  • Steve and J. shared preaching during FBT’s Good Friday service.
  • In typical fashion, Steve and the kids dressed up to decorate his Aunt’s home for Easter.
  • Steve and the kids have been enjoying bike riding at a local park.
  • We’ve had a number of game nights recently, both as a family and with the leadership of FBT.

Thank you again to all who have joined us in our ministry by supporting us financially and in prayer. We rejoice that we have reached 75% of our long-term goal! This is a growth of 9% from our last newsletter!

If you are interested in partnering with us, or you know of a church or family who may desire to, you can check out our website for more information or reach out to schedule a meeting with us to learn more.

We are passionate for the local church. We desire to see churches disciple their members to grow in adoring Him, loving one another, sharing the hope of the gospel, and living transformed lives. You can learn more about partnering with us on our website:  wynnmissions.com/partner
