Orlando and Debbie Collazo – Lorain, OH

2019-08-01T12:00:48-04:00

The Lord has been doing many different things at Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio.  We have had the opportunity to reach out to our community in diverse ways.  One way is through our “open gym” nights where approximately 15-20 local teens and college students come, play basketball, and listen to the teaching of the Word and the Gospel.  We have so far had 3 individuals entrust their lives to God through this ministry.  Please keep praying for the many that come and hear about Christ but have not yet entrusted their lives to Jesus our Lord. Another community outreach has been visiting the local shelter and taking food and [...]

2019-08-01T12:00:48-04:00

The Many Hats of Fran Cupples - In 1994 Fran Goodspeed lived in Omaha, NE, with her youngest son. At  Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp lived director and widower Roy Cupples. During a conference Roy noticed Fran at the piano, invited her out for lunch, and began a relationship leading to marriage and ministry together. They continued at the camp until 2003 when they decided to focus on one ministry—Victory Baptist Church in Fullerton, NE. They ministered to the church family and also served on the community Chamber of Commerce. They began praying about a church plant in the neighboring town of Genoa and in 2012 the first service at Grace [...]

2019-08-01T12:00:48-04:00

Sheryl Ridley has retired after 32 years of very active church planting ministry.  Sheryl joined BCP in 1991 with husband, Roger, after twelve years in the pastorate in Grand Island, NE. The Lord directed them to Gretna in 1995 as a place needing a church planted. The first service of Gretna Baptist Church was September 7, 1997, and the church graduated from mission status on September 7, 2008. At their first service in the new building in March of 2006, they commissioned a team to plant a church in nearby Bennington. Bob and Penny Toomer moved to Utah thirty-one years ago to help establish Baptist churches. They have been involved with four mission churches and helped start a Christian ranch. They are currently serving  at  Mountain  View  Baptist Church in Grantsville in a number of capacities:  youth leader, assistant pastor, filling the pulpit when the missionary pastor, Ron Ehmann, is traveling and doing small group Bible studies. Another major part of our ministry is traveling extensively doing round pen demonstrations for churches as an outreach. This unique ministry allows people to hear the gospel while watching the training of a horse in the round pen.  Bob and Penny enjoy being active [...]

Wayne and Shanna Dale – Scottsdale, AZ

2019-08-01T12:00:59-04:00

The people at Grace Baptist Church have faced some great challenges, but they also have seen God work in greater ways.  In 2015 they were without a pastor, meeting in a building that held 60 people, and were down to about 12 members.  Yet God was not finished with them.  Through past discussions with a real estate agent, and the help of deacon Michael Ronning, the group engaged in a transaction of faith and sold their present building and property to a developer, and moved 4 miles to a new church property that seated over 200.  This new property included over 11,000 sf with 2 buildings.  The prior church people [...]

Carlos and Issa Vasquez – Hayward, CA

2019-08-01T12:00:59-04:00

Carlos, Issa and daughter, Rebecca - taken in August of 2016. According to recent statistics, over 56 million Hispanics live in the U.S. That’s more than the entire population of Central America (that’s 7 countries.) In fact, the Hispanic population surpassed the Anglo population in California in 2014. It’s undeniable – the mission field has certainly come to America! One part of that vast mission field is in Hayward, CA where BCP missionaries, Carlos and Issa Vasquez, serve in the ministry of Iglesia Bíblica la Roca – Bautista Independiente. This church plant presently meets on Sunday afternoons in the facilities of an English-speaking church, Fairway Park Baptist Church in Hayward. [...]

Miguel and Ana Maria Quintana – missionary highlight

2019-08-01T12:01:00-04:00

Miguel and Ana, both from Colombia, South America, faithfully served in ministry for over 20 years in several Latin American countries before coming to the United States. While planting a church in Waterloo, Iowa, Miguel and Ana realized they needed to partner with a mission agency, so in 2000 they attended Baptist Church Planters’ candidate school and became official missionaries. They faithfully built up the body of believers in Waterloo and are now presently serving at another church plant, Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Seminole, FL (meeting at Starkey Road Baptist Church.) This past year, the Quintanas rejoiced to see these blessings: 1) Their Hispanic group meets in a small church [...]

Rob and Beth Worthington – “a place of new beginnings”

2019-08-01T12:01:02-04:00

God works in truly great ways!  We have seen His blessings on our family as we have grown from a family of six, to now having 4 grand children with one on the way!  We have one wedding coming up in October of this year with Sharon to her fiancé Chris.  They both serve in Iraq as civilian contractors and they both work with UAV’s.  Crystal our oldest is in Wyoming with her husband and two boys, Bobby is in Florida with his wife and son, and Cheryl with our only granddaughter is in PA.  Didn’t think I would ever be this old!  But grand kids are great!     [...]
